The consequence is that order matters. A coat chosen before the sweater underneath it usually has to be redone, because the bulk changes what sits well over it. Players who work base-up finish faster and with fewer reversals than players who pick the outerwear first because it is the most eye-catching row.

Several characters are available and the wardrobe is shared between them, so a coat you used on one is still on the shelf for the next. That pushes the session toward variety in styling rather than variety in items.

1. Select a character and start with the base layer.
2. Add the mid layer — sweater or knit — before touching outerwear.
3. Choose the coat last among the clothing rows, so it sits over a finished stack.
4. Finish with boots, scarf and hat, then move to the next character.

Build from the skin out. The wardrobe is shared between characters, so the fastest way to make two of them look different is to change the mid layer rather than hunting for a second coat.
