In practice that covers more ground than it sounds. There are pixies with wings as a separate slot, mermaids whose tails take up more of the figure than any garment does, unicorns that are coloured rather than clothed, and witches whose costume can be pushed as far as you want. What connects them is that none of these wardrobes has to be plausible, and the styling problems that come out of that are genuinely different from the ones an everyday collection produces.
