Hijab Salon

A design game: build a veil from the head wrap up, then match it with a full outfit.

Hijab Salon

Unify Media Inc. built this as a design job rather than a wardrobe one, and the construction is genuinely layered. The head wrap comes first and is chosen as a solid colour — it is the least visible part of the finished veil, which makes it a foundation decision rather than a decorative one.

The upper part comes next and is where style, print and bright colour go. Because it sits over the wrap, the two have to work together: a strong print over a clashing base reads badly even though only a sliver of the base shows.

The outfit is matched to the finished veil rather than the other way round — a floor-length dress or a two-piece combination, plus footwear. Building in that order means the veil is the design and the clothing serves it, which is the whole framing of the salon.

Controls

Choose the head wrap colour, then the veil's upper style and print, then the outfit.

How to Play

  1. Choose the head wrap colour as your foundation.
  2. Select the veil's upper style, then its print and colour.
  3. Check the two layers together before moving on.
  4. Match a floor-length dress or a two-piece, then the shoes.

Tips & Tricks

Pick the wrap colour with the upper layer already in mind. Only a sliver of it shows, but a clashing base undermines even a well-chosen print sitting on top of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is designed first?

The head wrap, chosen as a solid colour — it is the foundation the patterned upper layer sits on.

Does the outfit come after the veil?

Yes. The veil is the design and the clothing is matched to it, which is the reverse of a normal wardrobe game.
