Jiraikei Aesthetics

DL-studio documented the style properly. Jiraikei sits between gothic and lolita, works almost entirely in pink and black with neutral pastels, and has a signature makeup effect — an under-eye flush that reads as tear-stained and puffy.

That makeup is the element that defines it, and it is the one most likely to be underdone. Applied lightly it just looks like blush in the wrong place; applied properly it is what makes the whole style recognisable. Lipstick runs red, pink or purple, often as a gradient rather than a flat colour.

Hair is usually two ponytails or worn loose, fixed with ribbons and clips. The game runs as five levels — manicure, makeup, hairstyle, clothes, accessories — which enforces the full build rather than letting you stop at the outfit.

Controls

Complete each of the five levels in order.

How to Play

  1. Complete the manicure level first.
  2. Build the makeup, committing to the under-eye flush.
  3. Try a lip gradient rather than a flat colour.
  4. Set the hair with ribbons or clips, then finish the clothes and accessories.

Tips & Tricks

Commit to the under-eye flush. Applied timidly it reads as misplaced blush, and it is the single feature that identifies this style rather than a generic pink-and-black outfit.
